The Sweet Christmas Kisses 2 collection features all-new, stand-alone stories that are sure to make you laugh, sometimes bring tears to your eyes, but always put you in the Christmas spirit. Foreword by New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Getting married during the holiday season can be a very magical & special affair. Is it any surprise that my heroines like to celebrate their weddings at Christmastime? Four of my sweet stories end in Christmas weddings.
At that time of the year, Christmas trees and decorations adorn the churches, storefront windows, and public establishments. Chances are that the hotel or reception rooms selected for the reception already sparkle with multicolored lights and elaborate ornamentation. So what better time to tie the knot?
In the reception hall filled with Christmas trees, and winter themed garnishments, the decorations often consist of a mini tree or a tall vase filled with white, silvery and golden pine cones, and a few holly berry to add a red touch, on each table.
My brides enjoy a grand sense of tradition when they shine in their winter white or silvery white gowns but they love to take advantage of the colors and flowers of the season and carry bouquets of red roses, calla lilies, or amaryllis or white hydrangeas and soft ranunculus, while their grooms pin a matching flower or a holly berry boutonniere on the left lapel of their tuxedo jackets.
Of course, the bridesmaids wear berry shades such as deep reds and purples, or forest green in velvet or satin. They add a white angora bolero or wool pashima when taking outdoor pictures with the bridal party, while the brides often slip on a faux-fur shrug to protect themselves from the bitter cold. Unless the wedding is in Florida, as I have it Christmas Papa, my contribution to Sweet Christmas Kisses 2.
Christmas is the best time of year to splash out on great food and drink. The guests are served quite a festive feast. A version of Christmas dinner includes pudding, mince pies, Yule log, trifle as part of the dessert, in addition to the wedding cake trimmed in red or green ribbon or topped with red roses and dusted with edible silver powder!
Above all, the holiday spirit of togetherness magnifies what's already supposed to be one of the happiest days for the bride and groom.
With adorable little girls leading the corteges—especially when their formal dresses are highlighted with floral sash or back-tied bow—my brides offer readers memorable nuptials they will not forget.
